La industria minera invertirá US$ 568 millones en exploración al cierre de este año, monto similar a lo registrado en 2024, proyectó Elmer Cuba, socio de Macroconsult en entrevista con el Instituto de Ingenieros de Minas del Perú (IIMP).
En 2024, las inversiones mineras ascendieron a US$ 4,961 millones impulsada por nuevos proyectos (San Gabriel y Ampliación Toromocho son los más importantes), un avance de 0.5% respecto a similar periodo del año 2023 de US$ 4936 millones).
De ese monto total la inversión en actividades de exploración al cierre del 2024 sumó US$ 568 millones, mostrando un aumento de 28.1% en comparación a lo registrado en el 2023 (US$ 443 millones).
En diálogo con el IIMP, el economista de Macroconsult señaló que para este año se espera que el dinamismo continúe con una inversión minera de US$ 5,969 millones.
“De los cuales US$ 2,008 millones corresponden a nuevos proyectos (Tía María con US$ 600 millones, Reposición Antamina con US$ 401 millones, Zafranal con US$ 253 millones y Pampa del Pongo con US$ 223 millones son los más importantes)”, sostuvo Cuba.
